Privacy

ShipNest is run by Willem, one person. There is no ad network, no tracking pixel and no analytics script on this site.
What we store
- Your account. When you sign in with GitHub or Google we receive and keep your name, email address and avatar URL, plus the provider's account identifier and the tokens needed to complete sign-in. We generate a public handle from it.
- What you post. Ships you submit, comments, cannon fire, doubloon history. These are public by design, under your handle.
- Your session. A signed cookie that says you are logged in. It is not shared with anyone.
What we do not store
No card numbers — payments for flagship launches are handled by Polar, our merchant of record, and their privacy policy covers what they collect. No analytics, no third-party trackers, no advertising cookies.
Requests we make on your behalf
If you list a ship, our badge checker fetches your public page over HTTPS to see whether the ShipNest badge is there. That is a normal web request to a public URL; your server may log it, as it logs every visitor.
We email you about your own ships — for instance when a verified badge disappears from your site. Those messages go out through Resend, which sees your address to deliver them. No newsletter, no marketing blasts.
Deletion
Write to willem.vz@gmail.com from the address you signed in with and your account, ships and comments are deleted. No form, no retention window games.
