Terms of use
Last updated 23 August 2026.
Short version: list real products, keep your badge up if you took a free berth, and do not make the harbormaster's life difficult.
Accounts
You sign in with GitHub or Google. One human, one account. You are responsible for what is posted under your handle.
What may be listed
- Working products at a public URL that you made or help run.
- No malware, no scraped or resold listings, no adult or illegal content.
- Every ship is reviewed by hand and may be rejected without a reason being given.
Colors and do-follow links
- A free berth earns its board day and its do-follow link by displaying the ShipNest badge linking to your ship page. See Fly your colors.
- We re-check the badge automatically. If it is gone, the link becomes nofollow. If your site is briefly unreachable, the link stays.
- Flagship launches get the do-follow without a badge. We do not sell links on any other terms and do not run link exchanges.
Cannons, comments and doubloons
Vote and comment as a person. Ring-voting, sockpuppets and bought cannons get the ship removed and the account closed. Doubloons have no cash value, cannot be bought or transferred, and may be re-tuned as the board grows.
Money
Flagship launches and ad berths are one-off payments, taken through Polar as merchant of record. If a launch does not run on the day you paid for, you get a refund — email willem.vz@gmail.com. See pricing.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post. You give ShipNest permission to display it — name, tagline, description, logo and screenshots — on the board, on your ship's page and in the archive. Ask and a listing comes down; the archived board day may keep the fact that a ship sailed.
No warranty
The board is provided as-is by one person. It may go down, and a launch day may go wrong. Where a launch you paid for is affected, the remedy is a refund of what you paid.
